If you’re looking for a quick, nutrient-packed dip that feels indulgent but fuels your fertility, this Edamame & Avocado Dip ticks all the boxes. It’s creamy, fresh, and bursting with flavour - perfect for when you want something wholesome yet delicious to enjoy with your favourite crackers, veggie sticks, or even as a spread on toast.

Why I Love This Recipe

Edamame (young soybeans) are a brilliant plant-based source of protein, fibre, and folate, all of which are key nutrients when supporting fertility and overall health. Plus, they’re rich in antioxidants and phytoestrogens, which may help balance hormones naturally.

Then there’s avocado - packed with heart-healthy monounsaturated fats, fibre, and a range of vitamins like E and C, which support hormone production and reduce inflammation. Combined, these two powerhouses create a creamy base that’s both satisfying and nourishing.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe avocado

  • 150g frozen edamame, thawed

  • 1 lime (juice and zest for an extra zing!)

  • A handful of fresh coriander (cilantro) - for freshness and that lovely herbal note

  • ¼ tsp chilli flakes - just enough for a gentle kick

  • ¼ tsp sea salt - to bring out all the flavours

How to Make It

Simply add everything to a blender or food processor and pulse until you reach your desired consistency. I love it a bit chunky, but you can make it as smooth as you like. If it feels too thick, add a splash of water or lime juice to loosen it up.

Serve it up with your favourite crackers - I’m a fan of Clearspring brown rice crackers for a gluten-free, crunchy option that complements the creamy dip perfectly.

Tips & Variations

  • Swap the coriander for fresh mint or basil if you want a different herbal twist.

  • Add a small clove of garlic for a savoury punch.

  • For extra protein, sprinkle some toasted sesame seeds or pumpkin seeds on top.

Why This Dip Works for Fertility Nutrition

Not only is this dip delicious, but it’s also packed with fertility-friendly nutrients. Edamame provides plant protein without the saturated fat found in some animal proteins, which helps support balanced hormone levels. The avocado’s healthy fats are crucial for producing reproductive hormones and improving egg quality.

And don’t forget the lime! Citrus fruits are rich in vitamin C, which supports iron absorption and helps reduce oxidative stress - a factor that can affect fertility.

This dip is a quick way to nourish your body, support your fertility, and enjoy eating well - because healthy food should always be enjoyable.

Give it a try and let me know what you think! 💚
