WHAT IS A NUTRITIONIST?

Firstly, it's important to distinguish between the term 'Nutritionist' or 'Nutrition Coach' and 'Registered Nutritionist'. There are many people practicing with nutrition titles yet without the necessary qualifications they will not be accredited by a professional body. It's important to look out for the words 'Registered' and to also check what accreditations they have. For example, a Registered Nutritional Therapist will have at least a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy and will usually be a member of BANT, who's primary function is to assist its members in attaining the highest standards of integrity, knowledge, competence and professional practice, in order to protect the client's interest. 'Dieticians' hold a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and are regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council. They usually work within the NHS or public health sectors. I am a fully Registered Nutritional Therapist and member of BANT and the CHNC having completed a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy at The College of Naturopathic Medicine, London.

HOW CAN A NUTRITIONAL THERAPIST HELP ME?

A Registered Nutritional Therapist uses a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances that might be contributing to a client's symptoms and health concerns. This information will then feed into a tailored nutrition and lifestyle plan, alongside supplement recommendations if appropriate. My approach is evidence-based and personalised to suit the individual requirements of clients, taking into consideration their goals, budget and lifestyle. It's certainly not a 'one size fits all' approach and I understand the importance of working collaboratively with clients. I practice in line with BANT's standards in order to protect client's interests.

HOW CAN I CONFIRM AN APPOINTMENT?

Bookings will only be fully confirmed on receipt of payment. Initially, I require a 20% deposit to secure your package. The balance (or first monthly payment) is due 48 hours ahead of your initial consultation. Payment plans will be agreed ahead of your initial consultation. Payment can be made via bank transfer, credit or debit card only. You will receive an invoice for this transaction once your appointment is confirmed.

I'VE PAID FOR MY CONSULTATION OR PACKAGE, HOW LONG IS THIS VALID FOR?

All 3 month packages booked and paid for need to be used within 4 months of booking.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, this should be done no less than 48 hours in advance. You can do this by emailing hello@jenwalpole.com. If you need to cancel remaining consultations on a package, refunds will be calculated based on 'initial' and 'follow up' consultation fees only.

IS EVERYTHING WE DISCUSS CONFIDENTIAL?

I practice in line with GDPR regulations. You can trust that anything discussed and any personal information will be strictly confidential. The only exception to this rule is if your GP needs to be informed should any serious health concerns be raised during a consultation. You will be required to consent to your GP being contacted and provide their details as soon as a consultation is booked.

WHAT INSURANCE DO YOU HAVE AS A PRACTITIONER?

I am fully covered with professional liability & malpractice insurance with Balens, a specialist insurance broker for health professionals, underwritten by Zurich Insurance Plc.
