If you’re looking for something sweet that actually supports your energy, hormones and blood sugar balance, these no-bake brownie bars are a great place to start.

Think of them as a homemade alternative to a protein bar - but made with simple, nourishing ingredients you can feel good about. Each bar provides around 11g of protein and roughly 20% of your daily magnesium needs, making them a satisfying option for busy days, luteal phase support or when cravings hit.

Ingredients (makes approx. 8 bars)

  • 170g smooth almond butter (I used Pip & Nut)

  • 70g maple syrup

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 45g chocolate protein powder (approx. 3 scoops Ancient & Brave Ancestral Protein or similar) - Save 20% using my code JENWALPOLE

  • 15g cocoa powder (about 2 generous tbsp)

  • Pinch of sea salt

  • 100g dark chocolate chips

  • 1 tsp coconut oil

Method

  1. Line a small brownie tin with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together the almond butter, maple syrup, vanilla, protein powder, cocoa powder and sea salt until fully combined.

  3. Transfer the mixture into the tin and press down firmly to create an even layer.

  4. Melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil together gently (either over low heat or in 30-second bursts in the microwave).

  5. Pour the melted chocolate over the base layer and spread evenly.

  6. Place in the freezer for around 30 minutes, or until set.

  7. Slice into 8 bars and enjoy.

Why these work so well nutritionally

These bars are more than just a sweet treat. They’re designed to support stable energy and nutrient intake, which is especially important when you’re trying to conceive.

  • Protein helps support blood sugar balance and hormone production

  • Magnesium supports nervous system regulation, sleep and PMS symptoms

  • Healthy fats from almond butter support satiety and hormone health

  • Cacao provides antioxidants that help reduce oxidative stress

These bars are a great example of that balance - practical, satisfying, and supportive without feeling restrictive.

Enjoy 🤍
